About the Author

My name is Will.

Every year I research different places to go and my ‘I should go here’ list gets longer. I add it and then start thinking of the best way of getting around when there, be it cycling, backpacking or vehicular.

The Exploration Journal is my way to document my travels to these places and my development as a photographer.

2017: Year in review

One of my new years resolutions for 2018 is to think of 12 things I want to accomplish over the year and write them here. I’ll do this every year as a way of developing and making sure I focus on the areas that are important to me. I’ve broken it down into three categories: ‘Travelling’, ‘Art and Photography’, and the catchall ‘Other’.

This post is going to be a little sparse as its the first one and I didn’t consider my yearly goals in 2017.

2017 was a big year for travelling, I went to ten countries I haven’t previously been to on my Baltic Sea Bicycle tour. I also spent a week in Germany and looked around the castles near Dusseldorf.

Art and Photography

2017 was a quiet year for art, the most I did was working on one I call ‘Through the fire’ which shows a lava landscape being burned away to reveal an antarctic landscape. I’m not too happy with it though so won’t be posting it online yet.

  • I read 75 books.
